WWE SmackDown saw an increase in viewership on May 9 against the NHL and NBA Playoffs.
According to Programming Insider, SmackDown averaged 1.455 million viewers on Friday. The show drew a 0.41 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. The viewership is up from last week’s episode, when an average of 1.406 million viewers tuned in. The demo also rose from last week’s show (0.37 rating in the same demographic).
What happened on WWE SmackDown this week?
This week’s show kicked off with LA Knight and Damian Priest defeating Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in tag team action.
WWE Women’s United States Champion Zelina Vega teamed with the returning Alexa Bliss to defeat Chelsea Green and Piper Niven.
Elsewhere on the show, Aleister Black was back in action, picking up a win over Carmelo Hayes.
In the closing segment of the evening, John Cena cut a long promo on Randy Orton. Orton gave Cena one last RKO before Backlash.
