Mike Santana quietly showed his appreciation for Bret Hart at TNA Rebellion.
Santana collided with Mustafa Ali under a Falls Count Anywhere stipulation this past Sunday in Los Angeles. The match featured a lot of insane spots, such as Santana absorbing a barbed wire baseball bat shot to the face.
Fans may have failed to notice the subtle tribute Mike Santana paid to Bret Hart in his match against Mustafa Ali. The former Proud & Powerful member wore a heart-themed gear, popularized by The Hitman during his pro wrestling days.
Santana was left bloody and battered during the extremely physical match against Ali. The two men took each other to the limit. Ali took some nasty bumps such as missing Santana and landing head-first into the steel steps. He also landed awkwardly causing his foot to almost twist during the match.

Mike Santana was not the only performer to sneak in a subtle tribute to someone at the Rebellion pay-per-view. WWE NXT’s Gigi Dolin and Tatum Paxley, aka Fatal Influence/Chemical X, were one of the teams to challenge Ash by Elegance and Heather by Elegance for the Knockouts Tag Team titles. Gigi confirmed one fan’s theory about their attire being a tribute to a popular rock band, which you can read more about here.
