AJ Styles Reveals Plans To Open His Own Wrestling School

AJ Styles wants to help future generations realize their dreams of becoming a pro wrestler.

Styles took part in a Fanatics live signing at WWE World. There, he was asked by a fan what the best way to become a pro wrestler was. Styles praised co-host Tyler Breeze and the Orlando-area school he runs with Shawn Spears, Flatbacks. Breeze and Spears opened Flatbacks in Apopka, Florida, back in 2019. Past alumni at Flatbacks include AEW stars The Gunns and Harley Cameron, as well as WWE’s Kiana James.

During his answer, AJ Styles also revealed that he’s planning to open his own school sometime in the next year.

“You know what? I’ll tell you that this guy [Tyler Breeze] runs a great school [called] Flatbacks. If you ever get the opportunity to go see him and his school, train there,” AJ Styles said. “I’ve been there myself, it’s amazing. They’re really great coaches down there.

“[And] hopefully in another year, with some advice from my friends, I will also be opening my own place,” Styles added. “I’ll let you guys know. But right now, Flatbacks is definitely the place to be.”

Styles did not share any more details about plans for his wrestling school, aside from stating that it will be located in Gainesville, Georgia, the same town he is billed from in WWE.

During the stream, AJ Styles was also asked to name some of the talent that he wished he got to work with in his career. Styles named Shawn Michaels and Eddie Guerrero as two picks. Styles also went on to say that although he worked with The Undertaker in the Boneyard match, he still wished they got to have the match they thought they could have.
