One of AEW‘s top stars is believed to be in a contract year, as sources say that Mariah May‘s contract may be coming up this summer.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that a number of staff, wrestlers, and others in the company believe that Mariah May is on a contract year. Pe Sapp, these sources believe that her deal is up in the summer. There is no word on whether the contract has any option years attached to it. However, one source said that they would be shocked if there weren’t, given how heavily May had been pushed. Sapp also writes that AEW is looking to re-sign her.
Mariah May debuted in November 2023, but she later said that she was signed before AEW All In in August. She was featured in a lengthy storyline with AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm. May beat Storm to win the title at AEW All In 2024. Storm dethroned May at AEW Grand Slam: Australia. Stoem beat May again at AEW Revolution. May has been absent from AEW programming ever since.
