AJ Styles wants a TNA return.
Through a multi-year partnership, TNA Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boyz returned to their old stomping grounds of WWE to take Tavion Heights and Myles Borne last week. Similarly, fans have expressed interest in seeing WWE star AJ Styles cross over to TNA, which he called home from 2002 until 2014. While appearing on Insight With Chris Van Vliet, Styles addressed the possibility of resurfacing in TNA.
“I don’t know [if it will happen]. I’d like it to,” Styles said. “I think it’d be fun to do something like that. A one-off, I would definitely do it.”
While an on-screen return to TNA has yet to materialize for him, Styles recently paid the company a visit behind the scenes. This trip came at TNA Final Resolution, which emanated from Atlanta, Georgia. According to Styles, he caught up with a number of former colleagues, including his former Fortune stablemate Frankie Kazarian.
“Frankie Kazarian was there so I was able to hang out with him. but there was so many other people there that I was like ‘Oh my gosh, oh wow,'” Styles recalled. “Gail Kim, Christy Hemme, those are my guys, Eric Young also there. It was really cool to see. I thought it looked really good. They did a really good job. I know they don’t have a lot of money to work with, but for what they had, I thought looked really good. I was like ‘Man, these guys are really doing something.’ It’s exciting to see. Hope that we continue to work with TNA, and help them as much as they’re helping us because NXT talent being shown on TNA and vice versa, it’s good for everybody.”
