Darby Allin On Jack Perry Feud: Let’s Put This To An End At Wembley

Darby Allin gets candid about Jack Perry.

On August 25, TNT Champion Jack Perry will defend his title against Darby All at AEW All In in a coffin match — a stipulation that Perry personally requested. Last week, Allin cut a promo on AEW Dynamite, specifically centered on their respective journeys into AEW. Allin has since elaborated on that promo in a new interview with the Dallas Morning News.

While he fought for his spot in the company, Allin claims that Perry had it rather easy with a simple phone call to the Young Bucks. Moreover, Allin believes the opportunity to wrestle for AEW was like “spring break” for Perry, whereas Perry was highly emotional and grateful for it.

“When you see someone, you can see in their eyes if they have that killer instinct. [Perry] just seemed like this was spring break for him. It’s just fun. You didn’t have to really fight for anything your whole entire life,” Perry said. “Then I get [the call from Cody Rhodes], ‘You are in AEW.’ I remember crying. I just knew how big of an opportunity this is going to be.”

“And then you see somebody just coasting by like Jack Perry, fast forward all these years later, everything that he takes for granted. He’s TNT champion, but he’s like never on TNT. You can show up to work when it’s convenient to you. With all the crap that happened last year with him, and then fast forward, it’s like, hey, I wouldn’t miss it if you were fired. I feel like I’m fighting for hard work, fighting against complacency.”

Regarding the stipulation surrounding their All In match, Allin points out their feud has already been taken to extreme levels, with Allin even lighting Perry on fire at AEW Double or Nothing. As such, Allin believes a coffin match is a fitting setting to finish their feud.

“It’s funny, because people are like, whoa, why so extreme right away? I set the guy on fire [at Anarchy in the Arena]. What are we gonna lock up and chain wrestle, you know what I mean? Dude, let’s put this to an end at Wembley [Stadium],” All in said. “Come on, man. This is Wembley. I don’t want to have a year-long program with Jack. I just want to put it to an end.”
