A new report provides an update on Bryan Danielson‘s status ahead of AEW All In.
Bryan Danielson has been dealing with neck issues in recent months. On multiple occasions, he has noted that he might need surgery soon. Danielson is set to challenge Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship at AEW All In. Ahead of the match, AEW shared an interview on their YouTube channel in which Danielson stated that AEW doctors did not want him to wrestle until the pay-per-view.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that this isn’t a work, as Bryan Danielson had been working on “heavy restrictions” the doctors placed on him heading into the show. Per AEW sources, Danielson was beat up. However, having him compete in the main event of AEW All In has been the plan for some time. Sapp writes that Danielson’s injuries had prevented him from participating in some things he had been planned for.
While Danielson’s talent contract is up on August 1st, Sapp writes that there’s an active plan for him to continue with AEW beyond that. Tony Khan has said as much in an interview. Sapp also writes that it remains expected that Danielson will only compete part-time after his full-time run.
