Former AEW World Champion Samoa Joe was seemingly written out of AEW television when Chris Jericho drove him through a wall while on a forklift on the July 10th episode of AEW Dynamite. Joe was then loaded into an ambulance, and he hasn’t been seen on AEW programming since.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that Samoa Joe is already filming the second season of the Peacock series Twisted Metal. Production began on July 17th and is set to continue at least through October, with some breaks throughout this period. Joe plays Sweet Tooth in the series.
Joe had been feuding with Chris Jericho and The Learning Tree heading into the July 10th episode of AEW Dynamite. The group had already taken out Joe’s allies HOOK and Katsuyori Shibata before Jericho put Joe through a wall.
Update: AEW provided an update on Samoa Joe during the July 24th episode of AEW Dynamite. The broadcast team noted that he would be out of action indefinitely.
