Tony Schiavone was officially recognized as the latest recipient of the Gordon Solie Award.
Schhiavone was presented with the award by the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame. The ceremony was held on Friday, July 19th. Schiavone joined Gordon Solie, Jim Ross, and Conrad Thompson as the recipients of the award.
AEW posted a video in which Schiavone and others commented on the honor.
Schiavone rose to prominence with Jim Crockett Promotions. After a brief run in WWF, he became the lead announcer for WCW, and he stayed with the promotion until WWF acquired them in 2001. Schiavone went on to leave wrestling for several years before he joined MLW in 2017. He then signed with AEW in 2019, and he has been with them ever since.
