Rikishi remains outspoken about Jey Uso‘s booking in WWE.
Jey Uso’s popularity with fans is evident every time he comes to the ring, but he has yet to reach the next level with a major victory as a singles star. Meanwhile, Uso’s path to WWE SummerSlam is currently unclear, and WWE recently teased a romance between him and Rhea Ripley.
On his Off the Top podcast, Rikishi shared his thoughts on his son Jey Uso’s booking, especially with his teased romance with Rhea Ripley. (H/t Andrew Thompson of POST Wrestling for the transcription)
“I got hairs on the back of my neck every time I watch him (Jey Uso)… SummerSlam, where is he? Let’s write him into he likes Mami. Mami? That’s the best that those writers got?” Rikishi said. “Let’s write this guy into a relationship with Mami? What y’all trying to do? Break his marriage up? Y’all can’t put him in a good storyline so what you gonna do now? God forbid you guys try to tell her tongue kiss each other on Raw. Sh*t. That better not happen.”
The podcast was recorded before the July 22nd episode of WWE RAW, where Jey Uso competed in the main event. He teamed up with WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn.
Rikishi On The Bloodline
Rikishi also addressed those who are tired of The Bloodline and noted that nobody else was stepping up. He stated that no one could knock The Bloodline, as they had been holding WWE on their backs for years.
“When it comes to The Bloodline, this is what gets me going,” Rikishi said. “The Bloodline, when people talk about The Bloodline, ‘Oh, we tired of The Bloodline.’ You can be tired all you want for a few years, right? But we’ve been going through this sht for 75-plus years. You don’t think we tired? But we the type of people, we tired but we keep coming back. We keep finding solutions, not excuses. Solutions and the solutions needs to be the best you can be in that squared circle. Otherwise, if we not over in the squared circle, move us out. 100 percent (I’m telling others to step up). 100 percent.
“If you can put asses in seats, if you can knock those merchandise sales out, if you can bring up WWE’s revenue, TKO’s revenue. If The Bloodline is not that anymore, I get it. I get it y’all. Go ahead and just knock it then. But you cannot, you cannot knock The Bloodline that’s been holding professional wrestling company as WWE on their backs for the last four to five, six years now and sht, they still holding it without the main guy there. Who’s the main guy? Roman motherfcking Reigns. Come on.”
