Hulk Hogan Thinks Goldberg Should Have Stayed Unbeaten

Hulk Hogan thinks Goldberg‘s undefeated streak ended too soon.

Goldberg had a remarkable unbeaten streak in WCW. He racked up 173 wins before Kevin Nahs beat him at WCW Starrcade 1998, where Scott Hall hit him with a caddle prod. The loss has been the source of controversy over the years, especially considering WCW’s downfall.

Speaking with Bill Apter for Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Hulk Hogan shared his belief that WCW should have continued Goldberg’s unbeaten streak. (H/t Sportskeeda for the transcription)

“I think Goldberg should have still been undefeated,” Hulk Hogan said. “That might have been one of the things that would have kept the revenue stream coming in, but there are decisions to be made, different people in control of the pie. Some of it was business, some of it was just trying to find a different direction.”

Goldberg On Bret Hart

Another controversial aspect of Goldberg’s career has been WCW Starrcade 2000. There, with a kick to the head, he inadvertently gave Bret Hart a concussion that ultimately ended his in-ring career. Bret Hart has been open about his frustration with Goldberg ever since. In a recent interview on Busted Open Radio, the latter told Hart to grow up.

“The Bret Hart thing is just, it just saddens me as a human being,” Goldberg said. “That’s all. I mean, first and foremost, I would never wish ill will upon any opponent or anyone like that. To have an accident like that happen and end someone’s career, especially someone who’s one of the best that ever was, 100%, it sucks. And I’m not asking anybody to understand it. I’m just saying, just leave me alone, dude. [Laughs].

“Put your hands up. Do whatever you gotta do. It is what it is. Come on, man. I love you, Bret. Don’t be such a prick. That’s all. Grow up.”
