Report: CM Punk At WWE PC, Working Towards Getting Cleared

CM Punk has reportedly been spotted at the WWE Performance Center, and could soon be cleared to wrestle.

The former WWE Champion only has wrestled once since returning to the WWE. His first match back was at the 2024 Royal Rumble, where he competed in the titular match. He came second, being tossed out by Cody Rhodes after suffering a torn tricep at the hands of Drew McIntyre.

He hasn’t been able to wrestle since, but Drew McIntyre has still felt his wrath. Punk has cost him the World Heavyweight Championship on multiple occasions. This included pretending to be a referee at Clash at the Castle, and foiling Drew’s Money in the Bank cash in at the PLE of the same name.

CM Punk may finally be able to get his hands of his Scottish rival, if a recent report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider is true. He wrote that CM Punk was spotted at the WWE Performance Center, working in the ring in order to get cleared.

“CM Punk was at the WWE Performance Center today in Florida, PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources. Punk was in the ring working to get officially cleared by WWE medical, we are told.”

Dave Meltzer backed that up on Wrestling Observer Radio (via TJRWrestling). He said that CM Punk wasn’t cleared as of Monday, but was expected to be cleared by Summerslam for his match with Drew McIntyre.

“Punk is working on getting cleared, that might have even taken place today because he was in Orlando. He was not cleared as of Monday, but he was expected to be cleared. They were going with the idea he would be cleared. So Punk and McIntyre is likely the match. I can’t say 100% because he isn’t cleared, but it’s likely the direction.”
