Matt Cardona is proud of Chelsea Green.
While she remains a complaint-filing heel on television, Chelsea Green’s efforts have garnered a surplus of compliments from fans, backstage officials, and her husband, Matt Cardona. During a recent interview with Scott Fishman of SEScoops, Cardona weighed in on the praise that Green has recently attracted.
“I’m bias because she’s my wife, but before when she was just my girlfriend, I couldn’t believe when she was doing the ‘Hot Mess’ stuff in Impact that WWE didn’t want to hire her. And I couldn’t believe they fired her. Then I couldn’t believe in that in-between at NXT they weren’t using her. I’m glad she now getting the recognition she deserves,” Cardona said.
” …. Obviously, [I’m] super proud of everything she accomplished, not only what she did in that match, but I’m proud whether she’s doing a pre-tape on SmackDown or falling off a ladder through tables. It’s nice to see the wrestling world giving her the flowers finally. I think it’s only a matter of time before she gets what she’s earned.”
As Cardona alluded to, Green’s latest in-ring performance at WWE Money in the Bank resulted in her crashing through not one, but two tables, as Tiffany Stratton claimed the Women’s Money in the Bank briefcase, As such, Green has now adopted several new nicknames playing off of the hardcore spot. Some of Green’s new monikers include “Mother Mayhem,” “Princess of Pain,” and “Death Defying Diva.”
