On July 12, Major League Wrestling will present MLW Blood & Thunder ’24 on their YouTube channel.
Among other bouts, Matt Riddle will face Sami Callihan in a No Ropes Death Match. Plus, Mads Krule Krugger will battle Matthew Justice in a Three Stages of Destruction Match.
The card will also feature three first-round matches in the Opera Cup, and Janai Kai will defend the MLW World Featherweight Championship against Gigi Rey. Additionally, Minoru Suzuki will face AKIRA.
The results are as follows:
Opera Cup First-Round Match: Atlantis Jr. def. Okumura
Alex Kane and Mr. Thomas come to the stage and discuss the Opera Cup. Kane says the Opera Cup will not tear Bomaye Fight Club apart. He says the people want the Bomaye Fight Club to be tag team champions. He also vows to get the world title back. Thomas says that he could win the Opera Cup, and Kane says he’ll be cool with that.
Salina de la Renta is shown backstage, and she says she needs her revenge. CONTRA goons attack Jesus Rodriguez. Cesar Duran talks to her, and they head off together.
Opera Cup First-Round Match: Tom Lawlor (with Saint Laurent) def. Jake Crist
Tom Lawlor cuts a promo on the video screen. Paul Walter Hauser takes some shots at Lawlor and says he has a fragile ego. Hauser challenges Lawlor to a No Holds Barred Match in an MMA Cage. He says Saint Laurent will be barred from ringside. Lawlor accepts the challenge. Hauser says Lawlor will play the role of his bitch.
CONTRA hacks into the broadcast. Mads Krule Krugger sends a message to Matthew Justice.
Minoru Suzuki def. AKIRA
CONTRA attacks AKIRA after the match. Satoshi Kojima runs in and makes the save as he brawls with CONTRA.
Salina de la Renta’s Baby Daddy
Cesar Duran comes to the ring. He demands to know who the father of Salina de la Renta’s father is. Cesar calls Salina out, and she answers. He guesses a few wrestlers, and Salina says she’s not going to tell him. She changes her mind, and MLW National Openweight Champion Bad Dude Tito comes out. Tito says it’s not him, and he just wants to know who it is. Salina says it could be one of the “Fat f**ks” in the crowd.
Saint Laurent comes out. He says he’s not the father, but he knows who it is. He reveals that he has the father’s DNA. Salina corrects him by saying it’s a COVID test. Salina says she’s a virgin, and it just happened. Cesar keeps pressing her, and she points at someone behind Duran. It turns out to be one of his henchmen, who unmasks himself. Salina kisses him, and they make out. Salina and the baby daddy leave together. Cesar faints.
Three Stages of Destruction Match: Mads Krule Krugger def. Matthew Justice
- Matthew Justice won the first fall, which was a First Blood match.
- Krugger won the second fall, which was a Street Fight, as he got the pin after he and Justice went through a table.
- CONTRA soldiers put Justice in a body bag. Bill Alfonso tried to make the save, and Justice rallied. The match spilled to the outside, where the ambulance was waiting. Krugger slammed Justice onto a flaming table. Krugger put Warner in an ambulance to win the match.
MLW World Women’s Featherweight Championship: Janai Kai (c) def. Gigi Rey
MLW Opera Cup First-Round Match: KENTA def. Bobby Fish
The broadcast team hypes up upcoming shows.
No Ropes Death Match: Matt Riddle def. Sami Callihan to retain his world title shot.
- Riddle and Callihan battled back and forth in a violent match that featured plenty of weapons. Callihan hit a piledriver onto the bare ring canvas. Riddle made Callihan tap out by wrapping the ring rope around his face and pulling while he pushed down on Callihan’s back.
CONTRA attacked AKIRA and Satoshi Kojima backstage and in the parking lot.
