MJF made a statement on the July 3 episode of AEW Dynamite.
The former world champion was in Daniel Garcia’s corner for the main event match, in which he challenged AEW International Champion Will Ospreay for the gold. MJF played a part in the outcome, as he gave Garcia his diamond ring and told him to hit Ospreay with it. Garcia chose not to, and Ospreay hit him with the Hidden Blade for the win.
Initially, MJF comforted Garcia and helped him up to his feet. However, he kicked him below the belt and went on to viciously attack him. After hitting Garcia with his diamond ring, he mercilessly punched him over and over again. He punctuated the beat-down by spiking the bloodied Garcia with a Tombstone off the second rope. Ospreay chased MJF off, but the damage was done.
Officials then loaded Garcia onto a stretcher and started heading to the back as the show came to an end.
WrestleZone will have coverage of AEW Rampage as it airs on June 12.
