Ricochet‘s WWE contract has expired, and he is expected to join AEW, according to a new report.
As previously reported, Mike Johnson of PWInsider wrote that Ricochet gave WWE notice of his intent to leave the company when his contract expired. The former WWE Intercontinental Champion was then seemingly written off WWE television when Bron Breakker attacked him on the June 10 episode of WWE RAW. He was moved to the Alumni Section of the WWE roster on June 30.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Ricochet’s WWE contract has expired. Sapp cites sources in both WWE and AEW who note that they expect him to join AEW. However, he is not planned to be Ospreay’s opponent at AEW All In, at least as of recent weeks.
Ricochet previously had successful runs in Dragon Gate, NJPW, and Lucha Underground. He signed with WWE in 2018. During his time with the company, he held the NXT North American Championship, the WWE Intercontinental Championship, the United States Championship, and the WWE Speed Championship.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
