Tony Khan comments on the rumors about Shane McMahon.
In recent weeks, fans have buzzed about Shane McMahon potentially coming to AEW, or at least making an appearance. Speaking on Grilling JR, Jim Ross said that it was so crazy that it would work, which led to Conrad Thompson saying he heard McMahon reached out to AEW talent about the possibility.
Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Tony Khan commented on the rumors.
“I heard the rumor he might be interested,” Tony Khan said. “I’ve never met Shane, but we have a lot of mutual friends. I have a lot of respect for him as an executive and a professional wrestler. Shane is always welcome in AEW.”
Khan was recently quoted as saying that he had never talked to McMahon.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful recently reported that McMahon coming to AEW had not seriously been discussed in the company. He also wrote that McMahon was no longer under contract with WWE.
