The following matches and segments are from the June 7th episode of TNA Xplosion.
The show opens with a “From The Vault” match. It shows Kurt Angle against Yuji Nagata from TNA Global Impact 2008. This was a replay of their bout from Wrestle Kingdom II in the Tokyo Dome. Angle’s IWGP Third Belt was on the line, which was the same IWGP title Brock Lesnar won, but took from NJPW before moving to the Inoki Genome Federation.
After a hard-hitting bout, TNA star Angle caught a kick and forced Nagata to tap out to the ankle lock, retaining his title at the Tokyo Dome.
They followed this with “Around The Ring” with Gia Miller. She was joined by Rancid’s Lars Frederiksen. The pair discussed Frederiksen’s role in TNA, having recently accompanied Spitfire at TNA Rebellion, as well as his wrestling fandom since childhood.
This was followed by the “In Case You Missed It” segment. TNA Xplosion replayed Nic Nemeth against Frankie Kazarian from this week’s TNA Impact. It saw Nemeth pick up the win with a “Danger Zone”, before being attacked by The System.
This leads us to the main event, and only live match, of TNA Xplosion.
The Good Hands vs. Sinner & Saint – TNA Xplosion
In the main event of TNA Xplosion, Judas Icarus and Travis Williams teamed up as “Sinner & Saint”. They took on “The Good Hands”, comprised of John Skyler and Jason Hotch. The latter cut a promo before the match, cementing themselves as the heels in the match.
Sinner & Saint used their technical skills to get ahead, but the power and experience of The Good Hands put them in control of the bout. They hit some fun tag team moves, although Icarus fought them off to hit the hot tag on Williams later on in the match. They hit an incredible stunner/German suplex combination for a near fall, which wowed the crowd.
The Good Hands withstood the offence, and hit a top rope neckbreaker to win the match on TNA Xplosion.
