Ash By Elegance, formerly known as Dana Brooke, made a surprise appearance at WWE NXT Battleground, and Roxanne Perez retained the NXT Women’s Championship against Jordynne Grace.
At NXT Battleground, TNA Knockouts Word Champion Jordynne Grace challenged Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship. Grace and Perez battled back and forth in a hard-fought match, and both competitors were on the verge of victory on several occasions.
In the closing moments, the unexpected arrival of Tatum Paxley suddenly turned the match on its head. She took Grace’s title and tried to leave, but TNA star Ash By Elegance stopped her. Ash, who previously had a lengthy WWE run as Dana Brooke, tried to take the title, but Grace came to ringside and leveled her. The distraction ultimately cost Grace the match, as Perez put her away with Pop Rox.
Here’s how the match broke down, courtesy of our play-by-play coverage:
Grace kicks her way out of an armbar. Muscle Buster by Grace. Perez kicks out. Grace counters Pop Rocks with a Gory Special. Tatum Paxley hops the barricade and grabs the TNA knockouts Championship, and tries to leave with it. Ash by Elegance, appears and tries to steal the title from Paxley. Grace rolls out of the ring and takes out Paxley and Ash. Perez hits Pop Rocks for the win.
