Booker T thinks Sexyy Red did a good job with her NXT appearance last week.
Sexyy Red is a popular rapper, best known for her songs “Pound Town” and “Get It Sexyy.”, and has won multiple awards. She appeared on NXT alongside general manager Ava Raine. The pair unveiled the NXT Women’s North American, while also revealing Sexyy Red will be the host of NXT Battleground this weekend in Las Vegas.
Things got heated soon after that. Tatum Paxley attempted to steal the title from Red, but was attacked by Michin. This led to a match between the pair, with Michin picking up the win.
One man who was impressed with Sexyy Red’s appearance was WWE Hall of Famer Booker T. Booker revealed on the latest “Hall of Fame” podcast (via WrestlingInc)that he didn’t actually know who she was before the NXT appearance, of which he was on commentary for.
However, he noted she did a “damn good job”, and gave her props for pulling it off as a fan.
“I didn’t know exactly what kind of role she was going to play or anything like that. I knew she was going to be the host of Battleground coming up at the UFC Apex in Veg. But I didn’t know any of that…honestly, I didn’t have any inclination of what I was going to say about Sexyy Red, before I saw her. I swear to god. But she did a good job.”
“Me personally, I love having some celebrity, some people from different genres coming inside and playing a role. And really man, she’s not from this wrestling world. She’s a fan. But I must give her her props, doing a damn good job of doing what she had to do. And she pulled it off.”
Booker later joked that Sexyy Red and Lola Vice should have a dance-off. He praised Lola as “the real deal” and called her one of his favorite talents in NXT.
