DDP And Josh Nair Are Helping Butterbean Get Back Into Fighting Shape

DDP and Josh Nair are helping a “broken” Butterbean get back into fighting shape.

The former Superheavyweight boxer and “Brawl For All” lineal champion has been struggling physically for a number of years, being resigned to a wheelchair. He was awaiting a hip replacement, but could not have the surgery due to his weight.

Luckily, former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Diamond Dallas Page and Josh Nair (father of AEW’s Lexy Nair) helped Butterbean get back into shape using DDPY (formerly DDP Yoga). Butterbean dropped over 100 pounds and was able to get the hip replacement, as he attempted to get back into boxing shape.

DDP and Josh Nair spoke with Glenside Local about helping Butterbean get back into shape. Nair first met DDP through his ex-wife, Brenda, who was also married to Page for five years. DDP says he invited Nair to try DDPY, and now he’s one of the program’s Master Trainers.

Nair began working with Butterbean in 2022, calling him “overweight and broken.” He noted that the boxer is thinking about getting back in the ring. Butterbean now weights 285, 14lbs lover than he’s ever fought at before, and it is in the best shape of his life at 58.

“We started working with him in 2022, and he was in so much pain. He was overweight, broken, and needed surgeries,” Nair said. “Long story short, Butterbean is now talking about fighting again. I’m trying to keep his body in good shape while he trains. He weighs 285 at age 58 and has never fought under 300 pounds.”

Butterbean: I Want To Fight Brock Lesnar

Butterbean is getting back into fighting shape thanks to DDP and Josh Nair. The former boxer revealed he was over 500 pounds before Nair helped him lose over 200 pounds via their one-on-one DDPY sessions.

Now, Butterbean says wants to fight Brock Lesnar, and wants to keep pushing himself more.

“I was in a wheelchair for over three years. My hips were so messed up. I couldn’t get around and gained a lot of weight. I was over 500 pounds until Josh and I started doing one-on-one sessions. He helped me so much. He showed me so many different things. Anyone can do this stuff, they just don’t know how to do it. Josh showed me how, and I’ve gone further and further and further.”

“I want to get back in the ring as soon as possible. I wanted to get Jake Tyler, but [Mike] Tyson beat me to it. I’d love to fight Brock Lesnar.”
