Love Pro Wrestling is teaming up with the Edmonton Riverhawks for a first-time ever event.
LPW has been running since 2021, with shows emanating from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. They feature mainly local talent, but have had some big names, like “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Chelsea Green, wrestling for the promotion.
The company looks set for one of their biggest shows ever coming up. Love Pro Wrestling announced in a press release that they will be putting on the first-ever professional wrestling event to take place at RE/MAX Field. This is in partnership with the Edmonton Riverhawks. The Riverhawks are the area’s local baseball team.
The baseball ground will provide a unique venue for pro-wrestling for the very first time. The event will be called “Sluggerslam”, mixing up the worlds of baseball and pro wrestling.
LPW founder Spencer Love announced the plans for the event in a press release, saying:
“We’re thrilled to be bringing the squared circle to the ball diamond! Our goal since day one has been to bring international eyes to the incredible local professional wrestlers based here in Edmonton. We’re more than confident we’re doing so in partnering with another of North America’s flagship organizations in the Riverhawks, and to bring a combination of Baseball and Bodyslams to RE/MAX Field!”,
Meanwhile, the Riverhawks general manager Steve Hogle commented:
“We are fortunate that when people think about the Riverhawks they think about fun. Love Wrestling will help us take that to the next level. Expect the unexpected at this game!”
