Mike Santana Is Hosting ‘Puerto Rican Weekend’ Wrestling Show In New York City

Mike Santana is hosting his own wrestling show.

Since leaving AEW earlier this year, Santana has kept himself incredibly busy. He returned to TNA earlier this month, and started a singles career for the first time since he began teaming with Ortiz.

He debuted by beating Steve Maclin at TNA Rebellion, and looks to be onto even bigger things with his latest announcement.

In a Twitter post, Mike Santana announced his latest venture. He revealed that he is hosting an event to celebrate Boricua culture, hosting a night for celebration and pro wrestling.

He announced that Puerto Rican wrestlers from “the past, present and future” will take part in “Puerto Rican Weekend”. The event will be in association with House of Glory, although no names outside of Mike Santana have been confirmed yet.

The event takes place on June 8th at the NYC Arena, with tickets onsale May 3rd at 10am.

In the Twitter post, Mike Santana announced the show by posting:

“ANNOUNCEMENT This one is going to be special. The biggest weekend for Boricua culture in NYC just got bigger. Join us for a night of celebration and Pro Wrestling. Mike Santana Presents “Puerto Rican Weekend” June 8th NYC ARENA Tickets on sale May 3rd at 10am!”

Mike Santana Is Coming For The Top Spot In TNA

Outside of promoting his own show, Mike Santana wants to be the top star of TNA.

WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard recently spoke with Santana about his future plans with the company. He revealed that he wants to grow as a performer and become a top star in TNA as a singles star.

“I think, honestly, it’s to continue growing as a performer, getting into my groove, and that all comes to more you work, right? The more you do something, the better you get at it. There’s so much talent in TNA right now, so getting in there with all those guys and being able to mix it up. Also, I always try to take something away from every match that I’m in. So, there’s a lot of talent, there’s a lot of options,” Santana explained.

“And of course, like I said in my promo after the match [at TNA Rebellion], I’m coming for the top spot. Anything that I do, in my life in general, I do it to the best of my ability. I’m aiming for the absolute most success I can. I didn’t take this leap of faith and bet on myself just to coast by,” he pointed out. “The same way that I did with the tag team, we worked our asses off. We became one of the top tag teams in the world. I plan to do the same thing on my own. And thankfully, I’m still young. I’m still hungry. I still love this. You have to love it to do it. I’m hungrier than ever. Honestly, I’m ready to go. And whoever wants to step up, step up. Let’s get it.”
