Bayley was happy to see Stephanie McMahon appearing at WrestleMania 40.
She defeated IYO SKY to win the WWE Women’s Champion at WrestleMania, in one of the matches of the night. However, the return of Stephanie McMahon was one of the biggest shocks of the night.
The former WWE Women’s Champion was a shock appearance at the beginning of night two at WrestleMania. This was her first real appearance in WWE since her resignation as co-CEO in January 2023.
Despite the controversy surround Vince McMahon in recent months, she received a warm welcome from the Philadelphia crowd.
Speaking in her post-WrestleMania press conference, Bayley spoke about how much of an “awesome person” McMahon was backstage.
She called her “incredible”, and explained how she inspired the women in WWE to be as big as they can be in the company.
“She’s such an awesome person to have around. She’s so genuine and real and takes care of you. She looks at you in your eyes when you’re talking to her. Like, she cares. One time I saw the makeup people spill bobby pins by accident – she got on the floor and picked them all up. I was like, wow.”
“She’s incredible. But seeing her go out there and seeing her say the ‘welcome to WrestleMania’, that to me was huge. That was like, women can be in this position right now and can welcome the world to the biggest show in the world at the biggest WrestleMania ever.”
