Sabu was supposed to be enshrined in the Indie Wrestling Hall Of Fame on Sunday afternoon.
He’s in Philadelphia for the ceremony and got paid for his appearance… but it turns out that he just didn’t feel like showing up.
According to GCW’s Brett Lauderdale, Sabu skipped the ceremony despite keeping the deposit he accepted for his booking. Sabu apparently didn’t want to go through the trouble of getting in the elevator of the hotel and go upstairs for the ceremony.
“In the true spirit of independent wrestling, sabu has decided to keep his deposit and no show the indie hall of fame ceremony today. He accepted the booking and took the money, but doesnt wanna get in the elevator and come upstairs ?♂️ What a legend,” Lauderdale wrote on Twitter.
