Seth Rollins has big plans for WrestleMania 40.
He is set for two huge matches on both nights of the show. The main event of night one sees Rollins team with Cody Rhodes, to take on The Rock and Roman Reigns.
Then, Drew McIntyre challenges him to a world title match on the second night. He is one of the biggest stars on the show, and has some big plans for the event.
Seth Rollins spoke to The Favorites (via Fightful) about his upcoming clash at WrestleMania 40. The World Heavyweight Champion claimed it will become one of the most historic events in wrestling history. However, only if the four men can do what they want to do in the match.
“31 is special in its own way because you look at cashing in the contract in the main event of WrestleMania. So surprising, so captivating, and it shaped the industry in its own way. We took what the industry was, we subverted expectations, and pushed it in a new direction at the time. That’s really what we’re looking to take down this guard that is the Bloodline that has had a vice grip on our industry for the best few years.”
“Now you have The Rock back, Board of Director for TKO, we’re ushering in a new era, have a television deal with Netflix coming next year. It’s going to be a huge change and shift in our industry. We’re about to usher that in. It’s almost tough to say in the moment which one is going to be bigger. When you look back in retrospect, if we’re able to do what we want to do at WrestleMania 40, it’ll go down as one of the most historic game-changing events in the history of our industry,”
Seth Rollins: The Shield Have Taken Over The Industry
Seth Rollins also thinks that The Shield have taken over the wrestling industry. He spoke with Cameron Hawkins of The Ringer, and discussed how himself, Roman Reigns and Jon Moxley are exactly where they expected to be.
“We were all using the Shield as a catalyst to take over the industry and to rebuild it in our image. And if you look at where all of us are sitting right now, I think we’re exactly where we thought we would be in some capacity 12 years ago when we started this journey together.
“Mox is over in AEW being a revolutionary. Trying to reframe everything in his image. Roman sits at the head of the table, as he believes he should. And here I am hustling, busting my ass every single week to try to make the future of the industry better. We’re leading the charge for the next generation and what the future of business is going to look like.”
