Saquon Shugars looks to be out of action.
Formerly known as “Lucky Ali”, Shugars signed for NXT late last year, making his debut just a few months later. He hasn’t wrestled much in NXT, and a recently hospital snap shows he is unlikely to be back in the ring soon.
The NXT Superstar posted a photo of himself from a hospital bed on Twitter. He also showed a scan of his knee, indicating that he suffered a knee injury in a recent match. He caption it simply with the words “Unlucky”, an allusion to his indie name “Lucky Ali”.
Saquon Shugars last wrestled on the March 19 episode of NXT Level Up, losing to Tavion Heights in a short match. That was just his fourth match in WWE, having made his NXT Live debut in a tag match in February.
There is no confirmation to what exactly his knee injury is, nor a prospective timetable for his return.
Saquon Shugars Joined Joe Gacy As An Injury Worry In NXT
Saquon Shugars is not the only injury worry in NXT.
Joe Gacy had an injury scare on the April 2 episode of WWE NXT. His match against Oba Femi was stopped as his head hit the mat hard, although he appeared later on in the show to further his storyline with Shawn Spears.
Thankfully, this injury seems to be not as bad as first feared. Gacy took to Twitter in the aftermath. He confirmed he was “fine”, and that he would be fit for his match against Spears at NXT Stand and Deliver this Saturday, before WrestleMania.
Gacy said:
“Thanks to everyone who’s checked in on me. Again I am a little sore but I’m fine. Let’s get ready for Saturday #kingofthekickoff“
