Rhea Ripley responds to Becky Lynch‘s recent comments.
Over the last week, Rhea Ripley has sparked major buzz online as fans shared videos of her delivering a stinkface to “The Irresistible Force” Nia Jax at a recent WWE live event. Ripley’s WrestleMania 40 opponent, Becky Lynch, has since denounced the display of Ripley’s rear-end (at live events and on social media), labeling it as a step backward for women’s wrestling.
In a new interview with MMA Hour, Ripley has issued her response to Lynch’s statements, pointing out that “The Man” once used similar tactics in some of her in-ring performances.
“I find it real comical that she brings up the stink face at the live event because after these interviews have surfaced, and obviously I go on my social media, I’ve been tagged in a lot of videos of Becky attempting to do the stink-face on live events as well,” Ripley said. “There’s a couple where she does the whole hip swivel going into it and Asuka reversed it. There was one where Asuka stepped on the second rope and full on gave her a stink face. I don’t know why I have to be the one that gets attacked. I guess it’s a jealousy thing with everyone. I’m not entirely sure, but whatever Mami does, it gets a reaction from the crowd. It gets a reaction.”
Rhea Ripley Wants A Laser Focused Becky Lynch At WrestleMania
In regards to her cheeky social media posts, Ripley reiterated that no matter what type of content she posts, whether it be a gym photo or an inspirational quote, her followers will “eat it up.” Furthermore, Ripley believes Lynch should be more focused on their upcoming WrestleMania match, rather than fixating on everything else around her.
“The problem that I’ve had this whole time is I’m not getting the right attention from the one person who should be giving me their full attention,” Ripley said, referring to Lynch. “They should be thinking about WrestleMania and building WrestleMania and how they’re going to overcome the unstoppable Rhea Ripley. She’s getting caught up in Nia Jax, Liv Morgan, and now just like everyone else seems to be, she’s getting caught up on Mami’s butt too, when that’s not what I do.”
“Am I not allowed to have fun on live events like everyone else? People just want be misogynistic against me because they have a problem with me and obviously my work ethic and how much time I spend in the gym to make my body the weapon that is today and the way that I look. I can’t help the way that I look,” Ripley continued. “I could go out there in my old gear, my pants. Could go out there in my jeans and people will still find a way to mention these things when that should not be the focus.”
