Slim J Comments On AEW Release

Slim J comments on his exit from AEW.

On April 1, several talents found themselves caught in a reported wave of All Elite Wrestling releases. One of the talents affected was Slim J, who made his AEW debut in a tag team match at the July 16, 2022 AEW Dark tapings (later aired on August 2). Following the news of his departure, Slim J issued a statement, thanking the likes of Ari Daivari, Caprice Coleman, and Bill Behrens for brightening his AEW experience.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to have worked for AEW,” Slim J wrote on X. “Unfortunately yesterday was no April fools joke. I appreciate @AriyaDaivari for always bringing my name up and believing in me. @CapriceColeman you always put me over. As did @WilliamBehrens. Thank you.”

Initially positioned as a regular fixture on AEW Dark with The Trustbusters faction, Slim J was later reassigned to the Ring of Honor brand in 2023. His last ROH appearance took place on the March 14 episode of ROH on HonorClub, where he, Jack Cartwheel, AR Fox, and Komander competed in a Four Corner Survival match.

Other talents affected by the April 2024 releases include Stu Grayson, Parker Boudreaux, Anthony Henry, and Dasha Kuret.
