Bianca Belair weighs in on the conversation surrounding a women’s match potentially main-eventing WWE WrestleMania 40.
Fans continue to buzz about the potential match order for WrestleMania 40. Given The Rock’s return and two men’s world title matches on night two, it is unclear whether a women’s match will headline the show.
Speaking with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Bianca Belair highlighted examples of women main-eventing major shows, including her buzzworthy bout against Sasha Banks at WWE WrestleMania 37.
“I love that I’m here right now,” Bianca Belair said. I think it’s just evolved so much over the years, even from the time when I first got into WWE. I was here when they had the very first women’s Royal Rumble match. And now, a couple years later, I kind forget that there didn’t used to be one.”
Bianca Belair also noted that she was always pushing for the women to get the main event. However, she stated that any match on the card could get that spot because WWE’s roster is so stacked.
“I’m always pushing for the women, when they win the Royal Rumble, to get the main event,” Bianca Belair said. “I know how it changed my career and I know how important that is to us.”
Belair called Bayley’s match against IYO SKY a “great main event”, as it featured a long-term story, and she added, “[But] we’re at a time where our roster is so stacked from the men to the women that any match on the card could be the main event.”
