AJ Styles: It’d Be Awesome If Tama Tonga Came To WWE, I Hoped It’d Happen A Long Time Ago

It has been reported that the former NEVER Openweight Champion Tama Tonga might be signing with WWE. One of his former Bullet Club teammates AJ Styles recently shared his thoughts on Tonga making his way to the Stamford-based promotion.

While speaking on the Battleground podcast, The Phenomenal One claimed that earlier Tama Tonga was not interested in signing with WWE. But now, if his interest has changed and he decides to join AJ Styles that’s the right decision.

“Well, I think, the sky’s the limit. This guy [Tama Tonga] can get after it. I know how good Tama is. So the fact that he may be coming over would be awesome. I was hoping he’d come over a long time ago. But he didn’t have any interest back then. So, if there’s interest now, he’s making the right decision.”

AJ Styles wants wrestlers to understand that WWE is here for the long run

While speaking on the same podcast, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion shared that he doesn’t want wrestlers to be afraid of WWE as it is no longer running under the management of Vince McMahon. He also claimed that WWE is here for the long run.

“I wish more guys who I think would do well in WWE who may have been afraid as far as past things have happened with Vince being there. I wish that they would understand that WWE is in this for the long run. We are talking about ten years on Netflix. Possibly 20 years. That’s a long time. We are not going anywhere. And the fact that you could come here and you can have a job, as long as you can produce for as long as you want it. And depending where you are from man… You can reach out to other countries.

“So I just wish… I wish more guys would understand this. We are not just in the United States of America. We’re not just in England. We are global. We’re even bigger now than we have ever been. Places that we weren’t able to go, now we are in. So, I just wish they could see that and know that.

AJ Styles believes Triple H is doing a great job

AJ Styles also praised WWE CCO Triple H and mentioned that The Game is trying to find ways to help wrestlers grow rather than releasing them.

“Listen, this isn’t the same WWE that Vince was in charge of. I really believe that Triple H looks at some our talent and goes, ‘Let’s get them better or let’s find ways to bring out the best in them.’ Rather than show-off the worst. Because a lot of those guys and girls, when they got released from WWE it crushes them. I never understood why we want to do something like that. Rather than just, ‘Okay, let’s send them back in NXT. They just need a little bit more work.’ Or something like that.

“But being released, it will crush you. And I don’t want to see people, their lives being ruined because of a job. At the end of day, it’s just a job. But still, it’s something they’ve worked for their whole life. And then when you’re told you are not good enough, man, that sucks. But, it’s not the way it is these days. Not with Triple H in charge. I think he’s doing a great job of making everyone feel important,” AJ Styles said.
