Ilja Dragunov‘s next challenger has been determined.
The Roadblock edition of WWE NXT on March 5 was headlined by former NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes clashing with Tony D’Angelo to determine who will receive the NXT Championship match at NXT Stand And Deliver on April 6.
Toward the end, Trick Williams’ music hit to a thunderous reaction, however Williams was nowhere to be seen. Hayes finally turned around and D’Angelo planted him into the mat for the three-count to capitalize off of the distraction.
As a result, it is now official that Dragunov will defend the NXT Championship against Tony D’Angelo in Philadelphia during WrestleMania weekend.
But after the bout, D’Angelo noted that he was the one behind the stunt and that he had a “present” for Hayes. Williams’ music hit again and this time Williams slid in the ring to attack his former partner. Hayes managed to escape but Williams stood tall in the ring to end the show.
