WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley says she and Becky Lynch are worthy of main-eventing WrestleMania 40.
As confirmed at WWE Elimination Chamber, Rhea Ripley will defend the WWE Women’s World Championship against Becky Lynch. Lynch won the Women’s Elimination Chamber to earn a title shot.
Speaking with Alex McCarthy for Mail Sport following her win, Rhea Ripley shared her thoughts on her upcoming match against Becky Lynch and whether they could main-event WrestleMania 40.
“I mean, Mami already main-evented her WrestleMania, so why not do the next one as well? I think Becky Lynch and I stepping in the ring is Mania main event worthy, I really do,” Rhea Ripley said. “The last time we faced other was in NXT, leading up to Survivor Series, and that was Mami’s time to shine. It’s still Mami’s time to shine because Mami is always on top.
“I’ve proved that time and time again, so if we are given the opportunity, if we take that opportunity to be main-event, I hope Becky Lynch is ready because she can cut me off and all that, whatever she wants. She can run her mouth about me, saying I’m a lazy champion. I just proved I’m not a lazy champion.”
Rhea Ripley: I Beat Two People Who Defeated Becky Lynch
Rhea Ripley went on to note that she beat Nia Jax, and she previously defeated Lyra Valkyria, two stars who have wins over Becky Lynch.
“I went out there and I beat Nia Jax, the person that beat you, Becky,” Rhea Ripley said. “I also beat Lyra Valkria, the person who beat you for your NXT Women’s Championship. So that’s two for two. So why not make it three for three and beat you at WrestleMania too?
Becky Lynch recently said that she should main-event WrestleMania 40. Check out her comments here.
