We now have more details regarding Scott D’Amore‘s recent termination from TNA Wrestling.
Yesterday, the wrestling world got another shock when Anthem announced that former TNA President Scott D’Amore had been terminated from his position in the company. Anthem employee Anthony Cicione was announced as TNA’s new President going forward.
In a new update from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the head of Anthem, Len Asper, and Scott D’Amore came to a crossroads of sorts when it came to how TNA Wrestling should operate going forward, and of course, Asper won out.
Sometime in the last few weeks, D’Amore approached Anthem with an offer to buy TNA Wrestling from Anthem. D’Amore backed this offer with “a letter with a major banking institution.” Despite this, Anthem turned down D’Amore’s offer.
Johnson states that D’Amore was made aware that change was coming in TNA Wrestling within the last week and a half and was not caught off-guard by Anthem’s decision. Several members of the roster have offered praise and support for D’Amore on social media over the past 24 hours.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
