SGW Uganda is in need of a ring.
Wrestlers from SoftGround Wrestling in Uganda recently went viral on social media after they shared footage from their own Royal Rumble match. However, they are currently in need of an upgrade as they don’t have a traditional wrestling ring and are currently using bamboo for turnbuckles and string ropes while performing on the ground.
A GoFundMe has since been started so that their community can continue to rent the land they perform on. They are also seeking to upgrade their production and implement a real ring to compete in.
Of note, AEW’s Will Ospreay has donated $2,000, while TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace has also donated $200. Grace previously shared a clip of SGW’s Royal Rumble and publicly asked about the chances of getting them a ring.
As of this writing, the GoFundMe has raised nearly $5,000 of the $10,000 goal in only nine hours.
