Moose says his relationship with Scott D’Amore was one of the reasons why he chose to stay with TNA.
TNA World Heavyweight Champion Moose previously signed a multi-year deal that will keep him with the company. He has been with TNA/IMPACT since 2016.
In an interview with Denise Salcedo, Moose was asked about his body transformation and the changes he made to get to this point. He also emphasized that his relationship with D’Amore was a factor in his decision to stay with the company.
“So first of all, let me talk about that tweet [highlighting his body transformation and crediting Scott D’Amore telling him he was chubby]. A lot of people don’t know my relationship with Scott. Scott is, and this is one of the reasons why I decided to stay with TNA and not leave. One of the biggest reasons was my relationship with Scott. Scott plays the role of my boss, he always plays the role of a mentor. He plays the role of a friend, and he plays the role of a big brother. That’s one thing I’m never gonna get with wherever is decided to go if I was to leave TNA.
“So with that tweet, Scott was like, ‘Hey, don’t tell people I called you chubby. I don’t want to get canceled.’ I was like, ‘I understand where we are in 2024, right,’ but I was like, but that’s the truth. If you didn’t tell me that, that wouldn’t give me the fire to make the change. So I don’t mind you telling me that. I love that you told me that. I’m the only person he would ever say that to. He would never say that to anybody else but me because of our relationship.
Moose Details His Body Transformation
Moose continued by highlighting the changes he made to change his body. He made it clear that he was dedicated to the process, as he wanted to be in the best shape possible for TNA Hard To Kill.
“How did I get that way? It was a lot of cardio, it was a lot of chicken and rice, it was a lot of waking up at 5:30 in the morning to do fasted cardio, it was a lot of going in the sauna, and it was just dedication,” Moose said. “I wasn’t gonna go into the rebrand looking like how I looked in that far-left picture. I was gonna try to make my main event of the first-ever rebrand TNA pay-per-view, I was gonna try to come in looking the best possible shape I could be in.”
