When it comes to custom championship titles, WWE has made it a tradition to provide custom belts to any sports team or top celebrities. World-famous hip-hop star Snoop Dogg also received a special Golden Championship title. He used to carry it everywhere. Now, the title seems to be in the hands of the Philadelphia Flyers Mascot, Gritty.
Gritty recently sent a message to Snoop Dogg by calling him out to come to Philadelphia and grab the title from him. With WrestleMania 40 set to take place in Philadelphia, it looks like fans could expect to see a showdown between Gritty and the Hip-hop star Snoop Dogg then.
“Attention @NHLFlyers fans! @GrittyNHL has the #WWEGoldenTitle AND a message for @SnoopDogg ahead of #WrestleMania in Philly ?,” WWE shared.
This is not the first issue Snoop has had with the Golden title. A couple of years ago he took the title on a world tour but unfortunately, the title went missing. But he managed to get it back later.
“.@SnoopDogg brought his #WWEGoldenTitle on tour and now it’s missing! If anybody sees it, let us know…,” WWE tweeted.
Once referee Mike Chioda smoked a joint with Snoop Dogg
Everyone knows the relationship Snoop Dogg has with marijuana. But not a lot of sports personalities open up about sharing the ‘Devil’s Lettuce’ with Snoop. After parting ways with WWE, referee Mike Chioda was not shy of sharing his experience during an episode of ‘AdFreeShows Monday Mailbag‘.
“Everybody got a little turn in there. I think it was Orlando when he showed up at one of the WrestleMania’s. He had his own camper out there and he’d bring in certain tour buses, and campers, and everything. I went in there and met him, smizzed up a little bit. There was a bunch of guys, Wiz Khalifa in Pittsburgh, never got to smoke with him though.
“Everybody was jealous because we were getting tested that day for marijuana and we had to pay a fine for marijuana $2,500. The drug testers were there and here’s Wiz Khalifa just blowing big stogies, the whole f***ing hallway reeked as we’re on our way to take our drug test. Some of the guys walked by and were going to blame the hallway for breathing that s–t in. You can’t top Snoop Dogg though, there’s no way,” Mike Chioda said. [H/T Wrestling Inc.]
