New accusations have been made against an independent wrestling personality.
According to a new report by Nick Hausman of Haus of Wrestling that emerged on January 11, indie ring announcer and photographer Sarah Rose, better known as Stepstool Sarah, has been accused of grooming.
The report explains that Sarah, who is in non-binary and is in their 30s, allegedly interacted with an anonymous St. Louis Anarchy wrestler’s younger brother in a way that made the brother uncomfortable. The wrestler’s brother was under 18 when the interactions first began and increased in the days following the brother’s 18th birthday.
Hausman spoke to the SLA wrestler who detailed some of the encounters where Sarah made the brother uncomfortable. This included comments made when the younger brother was adjusting his shorts. It was also said that Rose would be mean toward the brother publicly but was nice in private, which was perceived as manipulative behavior on Sarah’s end.
Just days after the brother turned 18, Sarah initiated “inappropriate” text messages that became persistent. When the wrestler confronted Sarah, they were unapologetic and blamed their autism for their judgment being affected.
SLA owner Matt Jackson (not of The Young Bucks) was then notified and shown screenshots. Jackson’s phone call with the younger brother over the matter was described as “pretty terrifying.” Jackson confirmed to Hausman that following a review of the accusations, he decided to part ways with the photographer for violating the company’s code of conduct.
Stepstool Sarah previously worked for SLA as a ring announcer but they parted ways with the company for some time due to old social media messages with the use of the “n-word” coming to light. After some time away, Sarah was brought back strictly as a photographer.
The report notes that Zero1, NAP, and Black Label Pro have also cut ties with Sarah. When Sarah was reached out to for comment, they responded, “I’m going to seek help and wish to be left alone at this time. Please.”
