An old story with new details.
Following CM Punk’s attorney Stephen P. New’s social media exchange with Jim Cornette over NDAs in wrestling, new stories have emerged surrounding AEW star Chris Jericho.
In light of that, Brian Last recently appeared on Cornette’s podcast and made an interesting comment. He stated, “Man, there is a story I would love to tell, but I didn’t get permission, but [Jericho] getting knocked out on his own cruise ship by someone he mouthed off to. It’s the most incredible f*cking story, but I can’t talk about that today.”
Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net has now reported new details regarding the altercation that took place between Chris Jericho and MVP in January 2020 during Jericho’s second Rock N’ Wrestling Rager At Sea. Haynes notes that heated words were exchanged before MVP knocked out Jericho.
This is not the first time we’ve heard of MVP and Jericho being at odds as the two reportedly had another altercation in a hotel lobby in May 2022 following an AEW event in Houston. According to Haynes’ report, the two had a heated verbal exchange before Jericho hurried to the elevator door while saying, “I don’t fight jobbers.”
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter and Fightful previously covered the 2022 incident with Sean Ross Sapp noting that those close to the situation indicated their falling out stemmed from political and social issues that became public in a Twitter exchange.
MVP was reportedly visiting friends from AEW at the hotel after the show when the second incident occurred. According to one source who spoke to Fightful, Jericho approached MVP in the lobby to discuss their issues while MVP invited him outside to handle it. However, that’s when Jericho boarded the elevator and said he “doesn’t fight jobbers.”
