Samoa Joe lays out the vision for his reign as AEW World Champion.
Coming off his victory at AEW Worlds End, newly-crowned AEW World Champion Samoa Joe is looking forward to tangling up with more of the company’s top stars. Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Joe revealed the specific vision that he has for his reign, which includes continued competition with his talented fellow roster members.
“My goal is to have really great matchups with extraordinary individuals, which we have in spades on this roster, and give fans a reason to tune in,” Joe said. “Something is about to go down, and it’s going to be violent. That’s the vision I have for my reign, I’m looking forward to executing it.”
When assessing potential opponents for this reign, Samoa Joe cited two former AEW World Champions as possibilities.
“Kenny Omega, when he’s healthy, and Will Ospreay,” Joe said. “Swerve Strickland and Hangman [Adam Page], they’re both waiting for me. The matchups we can do are infinite. The possibilities going into this year are wide and varied, and it’s going to be very fun.”
