This past Monday Night on Raw the self-proclaimed Best in the World, CM Punk chose to officially sign with the Red Brand. During the segment, Seth Rollins came out and had a heated promo segment with the Second City Saint.
During the latest episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast, Bully Ray shared his thoughts on the segment. He claimed that there was a lot of realism in it and that is the thing the the modern era of wrestling requires.
“The reality of things like a Punk and a Seth Rollins and how you could hear it in their voice how things were very real, that’s what people want to hear. I thoroughly believe that the next evolution of wrestling should be very reality-based on all levels.” [H/T Wrestling Inc.]
Bully Ray also shared his thoughts on the segment involving Becky Lynch and Nia Jax.
“When you hear real vitriol for one another, that sucks you in and then you hear something that’s canned or scripted and you know now, we’re getting [staged] pro wrestling. I thought Nia and Becky did a great job of taking something that really happened and making it feel real the other night,” Bully Ray said.
Seth Rollins claims a match against CM Punk would be magic
Recently, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was interviewed by Jimmy Traina of SI Media. In the interview, the Visionary shared his thoughts on CM Punk. Rollins also mentioned that if he gets to wrestle the Second City Saint then that would be magic.
“Of course, and if you’re working with them on, you know, I mean essentially an intimate level, it’s the two of you trying to put a story together or a match together, or whatever it may be, you’re working with them. It’s not like you can just go out there and wing it. I mean, you could, but that’s not gonna go too well, most likely.
“But you know, you have to work with somebody. You have to figure it out yet. And it’s sometimes it’s like pulling teeth. We’ll cross that bridge when we get there. Luckily, we haven’t had to do that yet. I assume it’s only a matter of time. Whatever venue it’s at, I don’t know, that’s not my decision to make. I just show up and do the work.
“But it is what it is. Like you said, you don’t like everybody you work with. I certainly haven’t liked everybody I’ve been in the ring with over the years, but I’ve always found a way to make magic out of it. And so, if it is Seth Rollins versus CM Punk somewhere down the road, one way or another, it’s going to be magic.”
Seth Rollins is open to mending fences with CM Punk
Rollins also stated that he’s willing to mend fences with CM Punk.
“I mean, it’s a negotiation, for sure. It’s a conversation. It’s not like no one’s forcing something on you, but I am a businessman for sure. I’m open to do business if it’s there to be done. And shoot, man, I’m open to mending fences if that’s even possible,” Seth Rollins said.
