There have been several factions in the world of professional wrestling over the years. Some of the most notable teams are The New World Order, Evolution, The S.H.I.E.L.D, Undisputed Era, Bullet Club, The New Day, Damage CTRL, and many more. In that list, a group that defined the 90’s and the Attitude Era was D-Generation-X. The faction consisted of ‘The Game’ Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Billy Gunn, Road Dogg Jesse James, and X-Pac.
The faction played a dominant role in WWE. They also played a key role in changing the landscape of the business as well. In 1998 the faction led by Triple H decided to begin the ‘Wrestling War’ with WCW. The Game, The Heartbreak Kid, and the rest of the faction invaded Monday Night Nitro.
While this was an iconic moment, it seems like Sean Waltman, more popularly known as X-Pac wants to slightly change what they did back in the 90’s. Back then, DX did not enter the Monday Night Nitro arena. They only stayed outside the arena and interacted with fans. While speaking on last week’s episode of WWE’s The Bump, X-Pac claimed that he wants to redo the iconic moment, but this time with a little twist. Instead of stopping outside the arena, the WWE Hall of Famer wants to step into the arena and see what chaos they can create.
“It would be when we invaded Nitro in Norfolk. It was just such a mind-blowing thing to do at the time. No one had really done that. I didn’t do a lot of thinking – what happens if we do get inside? I was just like, ‘Let’s get inside’. [laughs]” X-Pac said. [H/T Wrestling Inc.]
Do you think D-Generation-X should have invaded WCW by stepping inside the arena?
