Ever since All Elite Wrestling president Tony Khan purchased Ring of Honor, things seem to be good for the promotion. Khan has been doing everything in his power to ensure that the talents signed to ROH were featured regularly on any platform possible. Khan is set to make a major announcement featuring one of the promotion’s top championships. Shane Taylor demanded that his name be included as well.
Last week on AEW Dynamite, Samoa Joe defended the ROH World Television title against Keith Lee. It was the first time the two super heavyweights faced each other on the Jacksonville-based promotion. The two didn’t get an opportunity to wrestle each other in WWE either.
After an evenly matched battle, Joe locked in the Coquina Clutch. While Keith Lee did not tap out, he passed out. As a result, Samoa Joe retained his championship. But after successfully defending his championship, Joe shocked the world as he declared that he was vacating the ROH World Television Championship.
The title no longer has a rightful owner. However, Tony Khan is set to make an announcement about the vacated ROH World Television Championship.
Ahead of the announcement, former ROH World Television Champion Shane Taylor took to Twitter demanding that Tony Khan needs to involve him in the announcement.
“Any @ringofhonor World Television Championship announcement… Better include MY NAME! #STP, we don’t just MAKE history…we ARE history! BaddestOfAllTime #ForThePeople #LeadByAnyMeans #PutOneThroughEm,” Shane Taylor tweeted.
What do you think the announcement will be?
