Former NXT World and North American Champion Carmelo Hayes demands justice for Trick Williams after what transpired on the Black and Gold brand last night.
At the NXT No Mercy Premium Live Event, the self-proclaimed HIM was unable to retain his NXT World Championship against the ‘Mad Dragon’ Ilja Dragunov. After one of the toughest battles of his career, Dragunov managed to win the title by pinning Hayes. This was the second time the two wrestled each other.
Last night on NXT, a new challenger for Dragunov was going to be determined. It was initially planned to be a Triple Threat match. The superstars who were set to compete in the match were Dijak, the Lone Wolf Baron Corbin, and the former champion Carmelo Hayes.
All three stars had a face-to-face inside the squared circle prior to their main event match. As the wrestlers exchanged words, the newly crowned NXT World Champion Ilja Dragunov popped up on the Titantron and revealed that there would be a fourth member added to the main event, making it a fatal-four-way match. The Mad Dragon also revealed that the fourth participant will be Trick Williams.
Later in the night, Carmelo Hayes found Trick Williams backstage, he was seemingly attacked by a mystery assailant. Williams was taken to a local medical facility and thus was unable to compete. Thus, the main event was the originally planned Triple Threat.
After seeing Williams knocked out, Hayes took to Twitter to demand justice for his friend.
“JUSTICE FOR TRICK WILLY,” Carmello Hayes tweeted.
The main event was a brutal match. After a hard-fought battle, Hayes managed to get the win. He will get his rematch for the NXT Title on the second night of Halloween Havoc.
