WWE Hall of Famer Edge is currently signed with All Elite Wrestling. Currently, he goes by his real name Adam Copeland.
The Rated R Superstar became one of the biggest professional wrestling stars when competing in WWE. He and Christian Cage formed a tag team that is considered one of the Mount Rushmore of tag teams to date.
Edge has captured the Tag Team, Intercontinental and United States Championships, World Heavyweight Titles, and more. In 2011, the multi-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion was forced to retire from professional wrestling following a severe neck injury.
Adam Copeland was a special guest on Chris Jericho’s Talk is Jericho podcast. During the episode, the Rated R Superstar mentioned that after announcing his retirement, he was convinced that he was no longer going to wrestle because his body could not take it anymore.
“It was gone. Wrestling was done for me. I had to come to terms with that fairly quickly. And then, luckily, acting kind of fell on my lap, and I got to do Haven, and one episode turned into 41, and then I realized, ‘Okay. I love this process.’ It’s still a creative. It’s still in the arts. It’s still flexing those muscles and the brain. There’s some different stuff and some stuff that started to atrophy because it’s not live. Once I came to terms with those things, ‘That felt like a good take, but I’m not going to see it for two years [laughs], so I hope it’s as good as I remember it,” Edge said. [H/T Wrestling Inc.]
Nine years later in 2020, Adam Copeland made a return at the 30-Men Royal Rumble match. Both he and Christian Cage are once again wrestling in the same promotion.
