Something unique happened on WWE Raw last night. Shinsuke Nakamura hit the Go To Sleep. This seemingly provoked a former WWE Superstar. That star is none other than Kenta.
The King of Strong Style competed in the main event of WWE Fastlane. He challenged Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a Last Man Standing match. Despite taking the visionary to his limits, Nakamura was unable to dethrone the champion.
Nakamura was attacked by Ricochet last night on Raw when he was being interviewed by Byron Saxton backstage. Moments after, when The One and Only was making his entrance ahead of his match, Shinsuke Nakamura returned the favor.
The Japanese star took out Ricochet with a Go To Sleep. Fans clearly thought this was a CM Punk reference, but it was also the finishing move of Kenta (formerly known as Hideo Itami).
Following this move, Kenta took to Twitter to tease a return to WWE. He claimed that he will see Nakamura at Survivor Series next month.
“See you at survivor series lol,” Kenta tweeted.
While Kenta may have just been joking, the random use of the GTS seems to be a hint at the much-anticipated return of CM Punk. For several weeks, WWE has been dropping subtle hints about the potential return of the self-proclaimed Best in the World.
Be it Seth Rollins calling himself the ‘Best in the world’ or the multiple lines from Michael Cole and Corey Graves that were referencing the statements made by CM Punk. Only time will tell if the Second City Saint will be back in WWE.
As far as Nakamura goes, he will be wrestling Ricochet in a Falls Count Anywhere match next week on the Season Premiere of Raw.
Will Nakamura be able to get the victory?
