Tessa Blanchard Set For CMLL Grand Prix

Tessa Blanchard will make her CMLL debut this month.

CMLL confirmed Blanchard will be part of Team World in the CMLL Grand Prix event on October 27. Full teams revealed for the Women’s CMLL Grand Prix include:

Tessa Blanchard, Johnnie Robbie (USA), Sumie Sakai, Makoto, Mei Suruga (Japan), Stephanie Vaquer, La Catalina (Chile), and Zeuxis (Puerto Rico)

They will face Team Mexico’s Reyna Isis, Marcela, Lluvia, La Jarochita, Dark Silhueta, Skadi, Hera and Sanely.

Tessa Blanchard has largely been out of the public eye since she was fired by IMPACT Wrestling in 2020. She had been a subject of contention that year, as social media messages from former co-workers accusing her of racism surfaced just before she was set to win the gold at Hard to Kill that January.

Blanchard went on to work for WOW: Women Of Wrestling, but quietly departed the promotion last year. Since then, she also announced she’d been enrolled in school. Blanchard has also wrestled sporadically for Hurricane Pro Wrestling and XPW, among other promotions.
