Last night on AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, former TNT Champion, Sammy Guevara did the unthinkable. He turned on his mentor Chris Jericho. The former member of the Jericho Appreciation Society has now broken his silence on the matter.
The Spanish God competed against Chris Jericho in a one-on-one match at Grand Slam. It was the first time both stars wrestled each other in singles competition.
This was one of the best matches of the night. Both wrestlers knew their opponents very well. Thus, making it difficult for each other to execute their signature moves and get the win. Guevara tried to take not one but multiple pages from his former mentor’s book. The Spanish God hit the Code Breaker and even attempted to hit the Lionsault but everything went in vain.
Finally, Guevara hit the GTH and attempted to hit a Shooting Star Press. But Chris Jericho caught the Spanish God mid-air and hit the Code Breaker and picked up the victory.
After the match, both The Ocho and Sammy Guevara hugged it out. It seemed like both showed incredible sportsmanship and the reign of the Le Sex Gods would continue. But in a matter of seconds, Guevara changed everything. He kicked his former friend below the belt. What happened next was even more shocking as it seemed like The Spanish God had joined forces with Don Callis.
Guevara then took to Twitter to question his own actions. It seems like he has second thoughts about what he did.
“What have I become…,” Sammy Guevara tweeted.
Don Callis also revealed that the situation between him and Guevara will be addressed next week on Dynamite.
