Natalya: The Great Khali Is Larger Than Life With A Heart Of Gold

Natalya is all praise for The Great Khali.

Natalya commented on her relationship with Khali during her tour of India for WWE Superstar Spectacle. The BOAT told Wrasslinnews’ AJ Singh she’d love to dance with the former World Heavyweight Champion.

“I would love to dance with The Great Khali tonight, even if it’s backstage,” Natalya said.

Natalya also praised Khali for his contributions to expanding WWE’s outreach in India.

“He is such a great person. He’s so symbolic as far as being a massive WWE superstar representing India. He’s larger than life and he’s got a heart of gold. I cannot wait to see him.”

Reunited in India

Natalya took to Twitter to post a picture with The Great Khali following their reunion in India. The former World Heavyweight Champion made a special appearance at the September 7th event in Hyderabad.

A Great Career

Khali made his WWE debut on the April 7, 2006, episode of SmackDown. He interfered during The Undertaker’s match against Mark Henry, destroying the Phenom in the process. His arrival led to the birth of the Punjabi Prison gimmick match.

Unfortunately, Khali’s medical issues at the time prevented him from competing in the match that was created because of him. He moved to the RAW brand in January 2007 and spent the next several months in a feud with John Cena over the WWE Championship.

He was brought back to SmackDown in mid-summer and won the vacant World Heavyweight Championship in a 20-man battle royal on the July 20 episode of the blue brand. His run with the title came to an end at Unforgiven 2007.

After spending the next decade entangled in various feuds and storylines, including one with Natalya, Khali left WWE after his contract expired in 2017. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021.
