“Hangman” Adam Page and Swerve Strickland will clash at AEW WrestleDream.
On the September 6 episode of AEW Dynamite, Strickland set his sights on Page, as he made it clear that he wanted the former champion’s spot. He told Hangman he had grown complacent, and if Page wouldn’t step aside, he would fight him for his spot.
The next week, Page faced Brian Cage, Swerve’s Mogul Embassy stablemate, in a singles match. Despite Strickland coming to the stage and distracting Page, Hangman scored the win. Page called out Swerve after the bell and noted that he had his balls in Prince Nana’s crown.
Strickland responded by saying that their issue would not be solved on the spot. Instead, he challenged Page to face him at AEW WrestleDream on October 1.
AEW then confirmed the match for the pay-per-view.
The updated card for AEW WrestleDream is as follows:
- Bryan Danielson vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
- “Hangman” Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland
